Average Score 91.0

This is a strong effort from La Fleur de Gay, which appeared to have gone through some changes that resulted in irregularity. The gorgeous 2011 is a reassuring example of what this small parcel on the high plateau of Pomerol, planted with 100% Merlot, is capable of achieving. Its dense purple color is accompanied by abundant floral notes intermixed with raspberry, kirsch and blacker fruit characteristics. Medium to full-bodied with sweet tannin, a sweet core of fruit, and a velvety finish, it can be drunk in several years or cellared for 15 or more. Wine Advocate.April, 2014
Offers an almost opulent feel, with velvety texture and dark currant, fig and blackberry fruit flavors well-studded with black tea and anise. This has nice weight, with just some toast to soak up in the end. James Molesworth,
A pretty red with silky tannins and berry, citrus fruit character. Medium body. Fine tannins. Balanced and delicate. May be better in bottle?
