A rich and dense red with sliced chocolate, blackberry and chalk. Full body, tannic yet fresh and clean. Mar 2016,
The 2015 La Fleur d'Arthus offers lovely richness and depth, with plenty of vintage 2015 intensity. At the moment, the 80% new oak appears to constrict the wine, especially in the mid-palate. Still, there is plenty of potential in the raw materials here. Crème de cassis, sweet spices and new leather are all nicely delineated. The 2015 is promising, but it isn't totally put together yet. The blend is 70% Merlot and 30% Cabernet Franc. Alain Raynaud is the consulting winemaker. Apr 2016,
The 2015 La Fleur d'Arthus felt quite reduced on the nose when I tasted it. The palate is sweet and a little chewy, furry tannin here, black fruit mixed with cedar and a slight charcoal note towards the finish. It just needs to gain more character by the time it is bottled. Apr 2016,, Drink: 2019-2031
Good and vibrant on the nose but awfully drying tannins on the end. A bit too much oak for the fruit, alas. Apr 2016,, Drink: 2023-2029
