The Chateau Filhot 2010 has an attractive bouquet with good intensity, although the wood still requires another 12-18 months to fully enmesh with the heavily botrytized fruit. The palate has a very viscous opening, to wit, an assertive Sauternes wine that is powerful and refuses to stand back. There are notes of dried honey, lemon curd and mandarin, the finish missing a little clarity and cleanness. This is one of the better releases from Filhot in recent years, although there is still some way to go. Drink now-2025. eRobertParker.com.April, 2014

Fresh, with lots of floral, honey and orange peel notes followed by heather and marzipan and a bright, juicy finish. There's nice freshness in the works, with a very lively, spicy finish. —J.M. James Molesworth, winespectator.com

Gold with a hint of copper. Not especially distinguished on the nose. Nervy. Unctuous texture with mid to high sweetness and lots of acidity. Quite muscular and exciting. Not classic big and sweet but certainly sweeter than most and a very valid style. Some real chew and structure but a bit heavy overall. RS 145 g/l, TA 3.5 g/l. 13.65% jancisrobinson.com

Strongly affected by oak (a surprise when you know the previous style of wine making from this château), with slightly heavy lactic undertones linked to the wine 'remembering' the fermentation aromas, but certainly a rich wine built to last a long time. Drink 2020-2040. (16 points) Michel Bettane, decanter.com

This Sauternes has wonderful freshness and focused dried fruit flavours. There is generosity but also precision and focus. A gorgeous good value Sauternes that is approachable young, but will age beautifully. It has a lovely, long finish. Jeannie Cho Lee MW asianpalate.com

A light apricot and peach nose has a hint of spice too. The acidity is a touch lacking leaving quite a dense wine on the palate with lots of bitter marmalade, not much length.
