Dense and powerful with chewy tannins that are fruit coated and rich. Full body, fresh finish. A fantastic young wine. So structured and rich. 80% Merlot, 12% Cabernet Franc and 8% Cabernet Sauvignon. Mar 2016,
The 2015 Château de Ferrand is a blend of 80% Merlot, 12% Cabernet Franc and 8% Cabernet Sauvignon. It has a plump dark cherry and cassis-scented bouquet that is well defined and managed to control the exuberance of the Merlot. The palate is sweet and candied on the entry, but there is structure underneath and that Cabernet imparts an attractive graphite note, which comes through on the finish and aftertaste. This is one to look out for in bottle, because it has some class. Apr 2016,, Drink: 2020-2042
The 2015 de Ferrand offers good up-front juiciness, then tapers off a bit on the mid-palate and finish. There is good brightness throughout, but not as much depth as I had hoped to see. Apr 2016,
Notably spicy nose. Sweet and thick. Just a bit too cinnamon and sweet for me. Oak and alcohol a bit obvious. Apr 2016,, Drink: 2022-2030
