A delicious wine from the proprietors, the famous negociant Mahler-Besse, this blend of 45% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot and the rest Cabernet Franc has complexity and an attractive, berry-fruited nose with Christmas fruitcake, herbs and spice box. The round texture, medium body and excellent purity make for a very good wine to drink over the next 7-8 years. ||A member of the Alliance des Crus Bourgeois du Medoc. Wine Advocate.February, 2013

The Chateau d’Arche has an attractive nose with subtle notes of lemon curd, almond and pear, struck through with impressive delineation and lift. The palate is medium-bodied with good weight and tension, fine focus and minerality, leading to a fresh vibrant, quite floral finish with purity and a decent (although not great) level of botrytis. This is an accomplished Sauternes from an estate that has raised its game in recent vintages. Neal Martin, Wine Advocate May 2011.

Greenish pale gold. Not much nose but obviously quite a bit of body. Dense and very rich and sweet. Quite charming. With real texture. Pastry cream. Long and just a little astringent on the finish. Medium persistence. RS 135 g/l, TA 4.8 g/l. 13.8% jancisrobinson.com

Pale but with roasted undertones on the nose, less sugar than some but with the right balance of alcohol and sugar, good length, well made, one of the best ever and certainly good value for this sort of quality. Drink 2018-2030. (16.5 points) Michel Bettane, decanter.com

This is a rich full bodied Sauternes with firm acidity and intense lingering flavours. There is good concentration here but the flavours lack complexity and the sweetness if fairly simple. The wine has moderate rather than long length. Jeannie Cho Lee MW asianpalate.com
