2012 Clos St Martin

We are delighted to offer a “wonderful treasure” that is both excellent quality and supremely rare: the stellar 2012 Clos St Martin.

“A tiny gem of a vineyard” (Robert Parker) and the smallest grand cru of the prestigious St Emilion appellation, Clos St Martin produces some truly excellent wine – complex and sumptuous with superb concentration, it is packed with potential and an unmissable buy.

The 2012 is no exception – described as “a beautiful wine” by Robert Parker and at absurdly good value for money, it is fantastic and should be a serious contender for any collection. However with so few cases produced (around 600 a vintage) very few people will be lucky enough to own this fabulous wine.

This is a beautiful wine from this micro-estate (three acres) near the cemetery in St.-Emilion. Dense ruby/purple in color, it has pure, rich, black raspberry and black cherry fruit, a hint of minerality and stunning purity, texture and length. This is nearly impossible to find in the marketplace, but what a wonderful treasure for those lucky enough to find any. It needs a good 5-7 years of bottle age and should continue to drink well for up to 20 years afterwards. This is serious stuff. eRobertParker.com.April, 2015
