The 2005 Chateauneuf du Pape Mourre des Perdrix’s dark ruby/purple-tinged color is followed by notes of black raspberries, black currants, cherries, pepper, and incense, medium to full body, and a long, concentrated, layered finish. Robert Parker, Wine Advocate # 173 Oct 2007

From vines located close to the estate, the 2005 Châteauneuf du Pape Mourre des Perdrix is medium to full-bodied, firm and classically styled, with bright acidity giving lift to notions of black cherries, blackberry, ground herbs and crushed rock. Made from 70% Grenache, 14% Syrah, 14% Mourvèdre and the rest other permitted varieties, it’s the most focused and lean in the lineup, yet is still an outstanding wine. Drinking nicely now, it should continue to evolve gracefully through 2020. eRobertParker.com.February, 2015
