The top cuvée is the 2015 Châteauneuf du Pape Boisrenard, which is mostly Grenache (they never say the blend) brought up in barrels. It is medium to full-bodied, concentrated and impeccably balanced, with terrific notes or currants, black cherries, cassis and licorice. It’s not a blockbuster, but the balance and purity are first rate, and it should evolve for 10-15 years. Oct 2016, www.robertparker.com, Drink: 2016-2031

Brilliant ruby-red. An aromatic bouquet evokes spicy red berry and cherry scents, along with hints of garrigue and peppery spices. Smooth and round on the palate, which offers sweet red fruit and floral pastille flavors and picks up a smoky element with air. Shows hints of darker fruit on a persistent finish that's framed by smooth, slow-building tannins. Mar 2017, www.vinous.com

Dark robe. The nose has an interesting intricacy, gives iodine, sea shore airs with blueberry and cassis fruit. It’s pretty deep. The palate also has an enjoyable thread of salted content, with life in its travel. The black fruit rushes around generously. Good southern wine with dashes of northern freshness. It’s good and complete, well balanced, shaping up well. Sep 2016, www.drinkrhone.com
