We are very pleased to offer one of the standout wines from one of the greatest vintages of all time in the Southern Rhone; the monumental 2010 Clos des Papes Chateauneuf du Pape. With 99 points from Robert Parker and 99+ points from Jeb Dunnuck, this is an essential buy for any Rhone connoisseur.
Clos des Papes is one of the iconic producers in this part of the fine wine world and turned out an absolute masterpiece in 2010. Now with a few years of bottle age, this fantastic wine is hitting the lower end of its drinking window and will only keep on getting better and better. If you can wait five years, it will be simply spectacular.
Rhone expert Parker is clearly a huge fan of this wine in this vintage, awarding it a massive 99 points, arguing that it “flirts with perfection”. His fellow Rhone expert on the Wine Advocate, Jeb Dunnuck goes further, rating it at 99+ points and calls it “most likely the greatest wine ever from this estate”. Immense praise given the reputation of Clos des Papes.

Mind blowing stuff, the 2010 Chateauneuf du Pape is most likely the greatest wine ever from this estate. Still inky colored, it has a powerful, slightly backward feel in its crushed rocks, cassis, kirsch, toasted spice, licorice and dried flower-like aromas and flavors. Massively concentrated, thick, rich and textured, it delivers a serious lashing of tannin, yet nevertheless is perfectly balanced, ultra-pure, precise and long. It's the quintessential Clos des Papes and will have 30+ years of longevity. Note, yields were a miniscule 16 hectoliters per hectare, so there's not much of this out there. eRobertParker.com.September, 2015
Clos de Papes, in the Rhone, is one of the top estates in the region, and in France. Prices and quality of these wines are extremely high. As well as the Clos de Papes red wines, the domaine also produces the Chateauneuf du Pape Blanc, 2007 being considered as their best vintage of recent years.
