Average Score 91.5

A super velvety textured red with a freshness and coolness. Full body, ultra-balanced and a savory finish. Super. Mostly Merlot with a touch of Cabernet Franc. Mar 2016, www.JamesSuckling.com
A flattering wine in the making, with a velvety feel from start to finish, offering warm plum, blueberry and boysenberry fruit that cascades through the finish. Features a healthy dose of toast, but everything is integrated and the fruit will win out easily when the élevage is done. Mar 2016, James Molesworth, www.WineSpectator.com
The 2015 Château Bourgneuf has a crisp and quite earthy, blackberry and briary scented bouquet that just needs to coalesce during its élevage. The palate is medium-bodied with steely tannin, quite pointed acidity, fresh in the mouth with moderate weight, hints of licorice surfacing towards the linear finish. Note that a second sample at JP Moueix showed more elegance and poise on the velvety finish. Give this 3-5 years in bottle. Apr 2016, www.eRobertParker.com, Drink: 2020-2040
Very dark. Lifted, fragrant, not one of the most intense but nicely balanced. Racy and toasty. Not perhaps absolutely top rank but not forced. Apr 2016, www.JancisRobinson.com, Drink: 2022-2034
New generation at the helm and showing constant progression. Rich and complex on the nose. The palate is round and full but also fresh and harmonious, with fine tannins and a long finish. Will offer value. Apr 2016, James Lawther MW, www.Decanter.com, Drink: 2021-2033
A wine that will benefit from more time in barrel and bottle, such is its structure and fruit weight. Plummy, ripe and sweetly oaked with plenty of backbone, 40% new oak and refreshing acidity. Apr 2016, www.timatkin.com, Drink: 2020-2030
The 2015 Bourgneuf is ripe, racy and succulent, all qualities that give it considerable near and medium-term appeal. Sweet red stone fruit, mint, anise and wild flowers flesh out on the succulent, inviting finish. The Bourgneuf is an attractive, mid-weight Pomerol with lovely freshness. The blend is 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc. Tasted two times. Apr 2016, www.Vinous.com
