This beautiful 2011 St.-Emilion possesses a sumptuous texture, lots of rich, earthy, black currant and black cherry fruit and spice box characteristics, a round, medium to full-bodied mouthfeel, and impressive purity, texture and length. Already strutting its stuff, it can be drunk now and over the next 10-12 years. A blend of 70% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, it is a sleeper of the vintage. Wine Advocate.April, 2014

This is showing overripe prune-like notes on the nose and some heat. The palate is much more controlled with very ripe, oaky black fruit and firm, quite grippy tannins. The finish actually demonstrates more delineation than I anticipated. I just hope the nose improves during maturation because the palate is promising. Tasted April 2012. Blueberry and cherry character with hint of smoke follow through to a full body, with big velvety tannins. A little overworked but not overdone. Could turnout outstanding quality with the elevage. jamessuckling.com
