The 2015 Bel-Air (Pomerol) offers notable breadth and power, but also has enough freshness to balance things out. The flavors are dark, bold and incisive throughout. Super-ripe black cherry, plum, mocha, torrefaction, spice, new leather and menthol all meld together in a sumptuous, racy Pomerol that will drink well early. Frédéric Massie and Romain Bocchio are the consulting winemakers. Apr 2016, www.Vinous.com

A Stéphane Derenoncourt wine. Lively crimson. Thick and dense. Dry finish. Quite demanding for the moment! Much drier than most Derenoncourt wines. Apr 2016, www.JancisRobinson.com, Drink: 2023-2033

Well located in Pomerol, close to Château Trotanoy, this is all about finesse and balance rather than fruit power. Long and refreshing, with bright acidity and succulent, red berry flavours. The oak needs time to integrate. Apr 2016, www.timatkin.com, Drink: 2022-2030
