The ripe fruit with spices and chocolate are abundant for the vintage. Full and velvety. Beautiful yet slightly one-dimensional.
From a blend of 70% Merlot and 30% Cab Franc the 2011 Beauregard has lovely sweet fruit and is full of life. Very nice.
Very ripe black fruit and very toasty. Mocha too – and even more so on the palate. Lots of oak char, well-rounded tannins, fresh on the finish. Just a bit too oaky but it is lively in the middle so maybe it will settle?
Held together primarily with wood. a dusty frame and toasted vanilla notes hold sway over only modest plum and cherry pie flavors, resulting in a slightly taut feel through the finish. James Molesworth,
Beauregard’s 2011 reveals dusty, earthy aromas intermixed with hints of crushed rocks and red fruits. It is medium-bodied, somewhat disjointed and finishes with a hint of dilution. Drink it over the next 5-6 years. Wine Advocate.April, 2014
