The 2001 Ursules has a perfumed bouquet with crushed strawberry, cranberry and a touch of cassis. It is still very youthful considering that it is already ten years old. The palate has a slight cheesy note on the entry. The tannins are a little coarse at the moment, although they should soften with more bottle age. There is a pleasant dryness on the finish: the kind of Burgundy that must be partnered with some hearty Burgundy fare to really shine. Tasted December 2012. eRobertParker.com.June, 2013
Almost always the class of the Jadot Beaune 1ers and it is the most aromatically complex today with notes of red and black fruits, hints of earth, underbrush and herbs plus a hint of anise followed by medium weight, firmly structured, rather tightly wound flavors and this too finishes with solid tannins that will take 6 to 8 years to mellow sufficiently. Allen Meadows, Burghound, Apr01,2003.
