Average Score 90.0

Beautifully crafted, with tightly focused, refined aromas and flavors of cherry, currant, cedar and toast, firmly supported with soft tannins. turns pretty and ripe on the finish. With its concentration, a safe bet to age. Best after 1995.Wine Spectator 1989
The 1986 has a dark ruby color with some amber, and a broad, expansive, forward bouquet of ripe plums, spice, coffee, and herbs. The wine displays fine richness, length and ripeness. Drinkable now, it has the potential to last for another 5-7 years. Anticipated maturity: Now-1998. Last tasted, 6/93. Robert Parker, Wine Advocate # 88
Solid colour and transparent quite wide rim. A little tired on nose, and less direct than the 1987. Quite a bit of substance on the palate but not much definition. A bit old.www.jancisrobinson.com, 16 May 2005
