We are delighted to offer the highly-anticipated Taittinger Collection Sebastiao Salgado 2008. A limited-edition bottling of one of Taittinger’s most exciting vintages - the Brut Millésime 2008 - this is the latest release in one of wine and arts’ most coveted collaborations and would make a highly seductive addition to any collection...

The brainchild of Claude Taittinger, the Taittinger Collection was conceived when he approached Hungarian artist Victor Vasarely in 1983 to commission a piece of original artwork for a small number of bottles from the 1978 vintage. The idea was an instant success, sparking a series of limited edition bottles - selected from only the finest vintages - that have featured work from some of the art world’s great names, including French surrealist Andre Masson and American pop artists Robert Rauschenberg.

The newly-released 2008 is the 14th edition in the series. Bearing the work of renowned Brazilian photographer Sebastiao Salgado, it marks the first time the collection has used photography in its design. The implied athleticism of the leopard and Salgado being the first Brazilian artist to feature in the series seems appropriately fitting with its release just a matter of weeks before the 2016 Rio Olympics.

Richard Juhlin rates 2008 as a 5 star Champagne vintage, describing it as "an absolutely gorgeous vintage that has it all" and recommending "buying everything you see of this vintage". 2008 is certainly fast becoming a strong contender for the greatest Champagne vintage in nearly a century, up there with the likes of 2002 and 1996. James Suckling awarded 93 points to Taittinger Brut Millésime 2008, describing it as "complex, rich and deeply powerful". This 50/50 blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir from largely Grand Cru and Premier Cru sites is an unmissable wine in its own right, sure to delight all followers of the house.

This stunning wine, in its remarkable packaging, promises to be a jewel in any collection and would make a fantastic gift for art and Champagne lovers alike. It is available in collections of 3 bottles, each individually packaged in their own matching sleeves.

What's more, while the highly collectable nature of these limited-edition bottles makes past releases very hard to track down, we also have a number of past vintages available for sale, including several bottles of the 1978 Vasarely - see below for more details...
