Donnhoff Grosses Gewachse 2015

Dönnhoff’s Großes Gewächse 2015 have received huge scores from James Suckling, View from the Cellar’s John Gilman and Michael Schmidt, writing for Jancis Robinson. And the majority ahve sold out rapidly…

Ranked as a five star “outstanding” winery by Robert Parker, he says: There is no better showcase for the concept of terroir than a collection of Riesling from this address.

Hailing from what Jancis Robinson has described as the glorious 2015 vintage in Germany, she says: “Cornelius Dönnhoff from the famous Nahe estate Hermann Dönnhoff reports that in his and his father Helmut's lifetimes, weather conditions had never been better than in 2015.”

Only a single cask was made of Brücke GG 2015 and as John Gilman says this: “is the only time that a GG has been produced from this vineyard by the Dönnhoff family. It is going to be fascinating as the years go by to see how this wine blossoms.” This adds a historical importance to this already high-scoring wine.

Just to reiterate, this is a very rare opportunity, availability of Dönnhoff’s other three Großes Gewächse 2015 (Hermannshöhle GG 2015, Felsenberg GG and Dellchen GG) dissappeared earlier this week...
