
Pichon Baron features among the top Bordeaux wines and was ranked as a Deuxieme Cru in the historic 1855 classfication. The estate is situated in the Pauillac appellation, spread across 73 hectares on Garonne gravel. However, only 40 out of the 73 hectares are used to make the Grand Vin. The terroir is planted with 62% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot and 3% Cabernet Franc.
Harvest is done by hand, then the grapes are sorted manually to ensure the finest quality. The wines are matured for 20 months in 80% new French oak.
