Brane Cantenac
Founded in the 18th Century, Chateau Brane-Cantenac is located west of the village of Cantenac in Margaux, lying on deep gravelly soils. The plantings consist of 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot, 4.5% Cabernet Franc and 0.5% Carmenere. This 2eme Cru Classe estate is owned and run by a branch of the famous Lurton family.
Finished wines get 18 months to mature in 60-70% new oak barrels. The second wine is called La Baron de Brane.
