
Chateau Barde-Haut is located in the east of Saint Emilion and its 17 hectares sit at the edge of a plateau looking out to the Dordogne Valley. Clay and chalk combine in the soil and plantings are 85% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Franc.
The final wine is matured for 18 months in 55% new oak barrels.
The second wine is Vallon de Barde-Haut and the same family runs Clos l’Église, Château Haut-Bergey and Château Branon. The chai was renovated in 2002.
