Chateau Petit Bocq is situated in the Saint Estephe appellation. The estate covers 18 hectares, broken up into more than 80 plots; it is very hilly with a mixture of clay, gravel, limestone and sand soils. The vineyards are planted with a combination of 50% Merlot, 49% Cabernet Sauvignon and 1% Cabernet Franc. The average age of vines is 38 years.
Hand harvesting and sorting methods are used before 85% of the grapes are fermented in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks and 15% are fermented in new oak casks. The wine is then aged in oak barrels for 12 months (one third to a half of the barrels are new French oak). Approximately 9,000 cases are produced each year.
