Wine holidays 'should include visits to Margaux, Latour or Haut-Brion'
People planning a wine-oriented holiday trek this year have been advised that there are some chateaux one must visit in order to gain a full flavour of the world of wine production.
According to a recent article in the Economic Times, no visit to Reims is complete without a visit to the Dom Perignon, Moet & Chandon and Pol Roger estates, where some of the finest Champagne is produced.
A trip to Bordeaux should include a tasting at the chateaux of Margaux, Latour or Haut-Brion, while the Right Bank vineyards of Pomerol and St Emilion will "leave the visitor spellbound".
"And whilst you are there, don't forget to visit the historic birthplace of the Bordeaux vineyard, the Pessac-Leognan terroir and the Musee des Chatrons & Musee d'Aquitaine," added the publication.
It follows the advice given by liligo.com recently, which recommended visiting St Emilion to find the oldest vineyard in Bordeaux, Clos du Madeleine.
