Travel disruptions did not deter LIWF attendees
Last week's London International Wine Fair (LIWF), which was held at London's ExCeL between May 18th and the 20th, attracted more overseas visitors than ever.
The 30th incarnation of the event closed last week with a final visitor attendance figures of 13,693, of which nearly one-quarter were from abroad - an impressive amount, considering the recent air travel disruptions.
It also saw the debut of Brand India, a group of leading Indian wineries, which aimed to make their mark among the more established chateaux like Comte Lafon and Palmer.
"The LIWF's anniversary year has seen extremely positive feedback from across the board and it has been so pleasing to see the wine trade getting back on its feet after a difficult eighteen months," commented event director James Murray.
Next year's event has been scheduled to run between May 17th and the 19th and will once again take place at ExCeL.
