Vintage port lovers who are planning a holiday in Portugal this year have a number of options that will bring them closer to their favourite tipple, The Drinks Business has said.
A list of some of the top hotels for a wine-centric holiday included The Yeatman in Porto, built by Taylor's producer the Taylor Fladgate Group, and the Casas de Coro in Douro, close by the historic village of Marialva.
Dedicated fans of vintage port may want to stay at the Vintage House Hotel in Douro, which is located near the Graham's winery Quinta do Bomfim and Croft's Quinta da Roeda.
Alternatively, those visiting the stately period house of Aquapura in Douro during harvesting season may be able to join in with the winemaking process for themselves.
It follows news that the Intercontinental London Park Lane is due to open one of the world's most expensive bottles of vintage port, a Taylor's Scion 1855, to mark the opening of a new hotel in Portugal.
