Tignanello and Ornellaia feature at US wine tasting evening
Lovers of fine wine who find themselves in the US next month might consider a visit to Connecticut, as one grocery chain prepares to launch a special evening on March 6th showcasing some of Italy's finest wines.
Stew Leonard's is hosting its annual food and wine tasting event in Norwalk, which as well as giving people the opportunity to taste some top Italian vintages will also help to raise money for children facing poverty.
The hand-picked wines include flagship Super Tuscan Antinori Tignanello 2006, Frescobaldi Castelgiocondo Brunello 2004 and Ornellaia La Serre Nuove 2006, the last of which earned a rare 94-point score from Robert Parker.
Money raised from the event will go towards the Kids Backpack Programme, which provides food for children who are in danger of going hungry.
Closer to home, the award-winning Quoins Organic Vineyard in Wiltshire will open its doors for regular wine tasting open days and tours this summer, beginning on May 1st.
