One of Britain's youngest wine investors has become the owner of half a case of Pichon Lalande 2008 - although he won't be allowed to drink it for another 16 years.
Two-year-old Alex Preusser was given the Bordeaux wines by his godfather Robert Gardner, who said the youngster will be free to use them as he sees fit when he comes of age, the Guardian reports.
"I wanted to get something to mark the year he was born. The wine should be perfect to drink in 15 to 20 years time," Mr Gardner told the newspaper.
"So either it will be a great investment or he will have an amazing crate of wine to drink when he's 21."
Pichon Lalande 1996 scored the highest points in a blind tasting conducted in New York in 2004, beating even first growths like chateaux Lafite Rothschild and Margaux to the top of the list.
