Chateau Petrus 1990 has been sold for higher-than-expected prices at a recent online auction in the US.
The sale, held by Acker Auctions and featuring 1,448 lots, saw Petrus 1990 go for $2,100 (£1,340) per bottle in one case, Paul Fraser Collectibles reports, while a 12-bottle lot of mixed Bordeaux from 1996 was sold for $8,000 (£5,105).
A 12-bottle case of cheatau Leoville Las Cases 2000 also commanded an impressive bid of $3,200 (£2,042), and eight bottles of Sine Qua Non Syrah achieved $2,600 (£1,659).
The auction comprised a number of small lots, some of just one, two or three bottles apiece, the news provider added, making it unsuitable for a grand live auction but perhaps better for new investors.
Christie's Hong Kong has a sizeable collection of wines from Bordeaux's first growths, including Lafite-Rothschild and Margaux sourced from Korea-based SK Networks, due to go under the hammer on September 18th.
