Perrier-Jouet is celebrating its bicentenary this year with the introduction of an anniversary champagne.
The Champagne estate unveiled the Living Legacy wine at an exclusive star-studded dinner, with guests including Jerry Hall, designer Sir Terrance Conran and Michelin-starred chefs Albert and Alain Roux.
Harpers Wine and Spirit Trades Review claims that current Perrier-Jouet cellar master Herve Deschamps has chosen this particular vintage due to its "exceptional ageing capacity".
"We are very proud celebrate tonight the Bicentenary of Perrier-Jouet with this unique Champagne experience as a real tribute to the house's remarkable craftsmanship," chairman and chief executive officer of Martell Mumm Perrier-Jouet Lionel Breton told the publication.
The exact number of bottles being produced has not been made clear, but Living Legacy will be available only in "very limited quantities".
This new wine may attract the interest of Chinese buyers, after it was revealed in data from the Champagne Bureau that sales of champagne have risen by 90 per cent in China during the last 12 months.
