Esteemed wine critic Robert Parker has shown that he can healthily appreciate satire as well as a glass of Chateau Margaux or Chateau Petrus.
The wine expert has been lampooned in a new comic book written by French journalist Benoist Simmat, Decanter reports.
Savagely mocking the writer's style and the ultra-ripe wines that he endorses, the comic depicts Parker being guided around an underground cellar, rubbishing wines that he has previously championed.
Yet Mr Parker finds The Seven Heady Sins (the title pun works more effectively in the original French) to be "hilarious".
"I loved it ... absolutely hilarious ... and to be a member of toon town [is] a great honour ... I hope it is a great success and gets translated into English and other languages," he told the magazine.
Mr Parker told the Herald Scotland recently that he feels he has brought a "democratic view" to wine tasting.
