Californian wine producer Opus One, which began life as a joint venture by Robert Mondavi and former Chateau Mouton Rothschild owner Philippe de Rothschild, has opened new offices in China and Japan.
Yasuko Cadby has been appointed to oversee the Tokyo office, while Yvonne Chong will head up Hong Kong, China and Singapore.
The move was prompted by a growing interest in fine wines from the Far East, which has seen a number of producers launch new operations in the region.
"These regions have shown significant sales growth and high strategic importance," said David Pearson, chief executive officer of Opus One.
"The addition of these positions reinforces Opus One's commitment to the growing global market for fine wine."
Last month, the Four Seasons Resort Maui in Hawaii announced a special dinner on May 6th featuring a selection of classic vintages from Opus One, including 1981, 1995, 2005 and 2007.
