Italian designer Alberto Alessi has revealed he has a passion for wines from Burgundy, rather than his native Italy.
The head of the eponymous fashion house says Burgundy is his drink of choice, according to Wine Spectator. He particularly enjoys the vineyards of A & P de Villaine, Philippe Pacalet, Pierre Morey and Prieure-Roch.
Mr Alessi also enjoys champagnes from Fleury Pere & Fils, Francoise Bedel and Laherte Freres.
"I've always been a good wine drinker; it is an everyday habit in our family, region and country," he said.
The designer recently began his own wine project, which aims to "produce the best Italian white wine ever".
Burgundy benefits from a worldwide reputation, which is important when selecting a bottle of wine.
Research from consultancy Do I Like It? recently found that eight out of ten buyers prefer a wine with a strong reputation in its home country, such as Burgundy or Bordeaux.
