Hollywood filmmaker Francis Ford Coppola has turned to an experienced Chateau Margaux expert to run his Napa Valley estate.
The Godfather director wants Philippe Bascaules to use the skills he learnt at the First Growth Bordeaux vineyard as estate manager and winemaker for Rubicon.
Coppola has also acquired the right to use the historic Inglenook name, by which the estate's wine was formerly known, which will be restored.
"Welcoming a preeminent winemaker like Philippe Bascaules to the renamed Inglenook expresses my intention to honour the estate's heritage and restore its legacy," said Coppola.
Mr Bascaules, who spent 21 years working at Chateau Margaux, said he "charmed" by the beauty of the estate and recognises the huge potential for the vineyard's wine.
The director also owns the Francis Ford Coppola Winery, which is situated in California's Alexander Valley. Here, guests can enjoy fine wine paired with exquisite cuisine, as well as family leisure activities.
