Fine diners will be enjoying their Chateau Latour or Chateau Lafite Rothschild in more intimate surroundings in future.
This is the view of Australian chef David Laris, who believes that food and wine lovers are demanding a more intimate atmosphere when visiting restaurants.
Speaking to Hospitality magazine, Mr Laris said that this was the inspiration behind his new establishment 12 Chairs, which seats just 12 people at a time.
He believes that this allows diners to concentrate their senses on the food, as well as the Chateau Lafite Rothschild and Chateau Margaux on the wine list.
"It's about the overall experience that the guest can have with the food, with the other diners, and the pure pleasure that comes from indulging in a beautiful meal," Mr Laris told the publication.
Chateau Margaux could be a popular bottle at Mr Laris' Shanghai restaurant.
The estate's chief winemaker Paul Pontallier recently told China's People Daily that he is looking at ways of marrying the wine with Chinese food flavours.
