Laurent Dassault, the owner of chateaux Dassault and Lafleur, has moved to acquire Pomerol chateaux La Croix de Gay and La Fleur de Gay from current owner Dr Alain Raynaud.
If agreed, the sale would mean president of the Circle de Rive Droit Dr Raynaud no longer owned any estates, decanter.com reports.
"I have not yet made any decisions, and will do so by the end of the year," he told the website.
"It is not always easy to work both properties between just the two of us, but these are family estates and we will take the necessary time to reflect."
Dr Raynaud sold chateau Quinault L'Enclos in 2008 and currently consults for Clos de l'Eglise in Pomerol, Colgin in Napa and the new Barclay Brothers venture on Sark.
Laurent Dassault is vice-president of the GIMD and is involved in the development of a high-performance electric car together with energy firm EDF.
