Auction house Christie's will hold a sale of Bordeaux and Burgundy to raise money for a charitable project.
The Wine to Water initiative sells donations of fine wines to provide funds for Water Aid, a charity which supplies clean drinking water to deprived areas around the world, Decanter Magazine reports.
Key bottles in the sale include ten cases of Chateau Lafite Rothschild 2002, as well as a number of Bordeaux vintages.
"Outside of Bordeaux, we expect the Domaine Romanee-Conti Grand Cru 1999 vintage and the rare magnums of La Tache Grand Cru to also be successful," Chris Munro, head of London wine sales at Christie's, told the publication.
Wine experts have claimed that a recent sale of Chateau Lafite Rothschild at Sotheby's in Hong Kong, which witnessed a world record sale from a three-bottle lot of Chateau Lafite 1869, has redefined the value of Bordeaux wine.
