Musician Chris de Burgh has revealed which bottles of his fine Bordeaux, Burgundy and Champagne collection will be put up for auction.
The Lady in Red singer is letting 320 bottles and 84 magnums go under the hammer at Christie's in London next month, as he looks to reduce the size of his cellar.
Highlights of the sale will include a 1945 Chateau Lafite Rothschild and a 62-magnum vertical of Chateau Mouton Rothschild, covering the period between 1945 and 2005.
"Every wine I'm selling I've actually tasted, one way or the other, so I know what I'm missing, but I think the time has come for someone else to enjoy them in my stead," he said.
De Burgh went on to reveal that he has been thinking of selling part of his collection for the last five years, but current market conditions have convinced him that now is the right time to part with his wines.
However, this does not necessarily mean that the fine wine market has peaked.
Money High Street claimed recently that First Growth Bordeaux such as Chateau Lafite Rothschild and Chateau Mouton Rothschild are still offering good investment returns and will do for some time yet.
