Celebrity chef Emeril Lagasse has taken part in a gastronomic extravaganza held at the Wolffer Estate Vineyard in Saganopack, New York.
The annual Chefs and Champagne New York event, organised by the James Beard Foundation, featured Champagne Nicolas Feuillatte, wines from Wolffer Estate and culinary delights from more than 40 top chefs.
"We are delighted to honor him for all that he has done to further the culinary arts in America, as well as his philanthropic work supporting children’s educational programs through the Emeril Lagasse Foundation," said Susan Ungaro, president of the James Beard Foundation.
One of the biggest gastronomic events in New York's East End, funds raised by Chefs and Champagne's ticket sales and wine auctions went towards the foundation's mission to promote and preserve the US' culinary culture.
Wine lovers in the US have a number of events to choose from over the next couple of months, with the Millbrae Art and Wine Festival kicking off in California and a celebration of food and wine in Virginia in September.
