Champagne estate Lanson is looking to educate consumers about the sparkling wine with a new project.
The L'Academie de Lanson concept includes a new interactive website with dedicated trade and consumer notes about the vineyard's Champagne, Harpers Wine and Spirit Trades Review reports.
It wants consumers and merchants to learn more about the individual style of its wine, and how it relates to food, hospitality and other drinks.
Paul Beavis, managing director of Lanson International UK, told the publication that the project is merely a continuation of an idea the estate had back in 2008.
He explained: "We identified a notable lack of knowledge about champagne in comparison to still wines and a desire to learn more.
"Education and information has been a core part of our communication ever since and L'Academie de Lanson is an extension of this."
Lanson-BCC recently announced it is to begin a project that will examine the possibility of producing biodynamic wine in Champagne.
