Canada's oenophiles are increasingly investing in wine cellars to show off their collections of Chateau Petrus and Cheval Blanc.
According to the Regina Leader-Post, some wine enthusiasts in the country are spending up to $60,000 (£40,000) creating a space for their collections, although they can be made for a fraction of this cost.
"A wine cellar is a way to make your resale stand out if you are a builder, a way to reward yourself and satisfy your passion if you are a wine aficionado," Peter Durst of Rosehill Wine Cellars told the newspaper.
"It's an encouragement to entertain friends and family at home."
Meanwhile, he advised those planning a cellar to consider the racking design before construction begins, allowing people to identify the proportions that satisfy their desired layout.
A recent article on Vancouver-based Straight.com also recommended climate-controlled cabinets for those who do not have the space or resources to create a full-scale cellar.
