Seven hectares of vineyard in the Meursault area of Burgundy have been sold to a group of investors headed by the US sommelier Robert Bohr.
According to Decanter, the land consists of the vineyards and associated buildings of Domaine Rene Manuel, previously owned by Burgundy firm Cottin Freres, which bottles mostly under the Laboure-Roi label.
The €12.3 million (£10.4 million) deal also involves the Clos de Boucheres, which is part of the premier cru Boucheres.
Sources involved in the deal have apparently told Decanter that there are no plans to create a new label as a result of the deal.
The vineyards will be farmed by Domaine Rolot and Domaine Lafon, who will produce and market the wine under these two names.
Estates of this size rarely come on the market, but this deal follows the acquisition of the Chateau Chenu Lafite vineyard in Bordeaux by an unnamed Chinese billionaire last month.
