Wine lovers who want a new perspective on Bordeaux may be interested to hear that a series of graphic novels is in the works, which concern a young American who inherits a chateau in the region from her father.
Cartoonist Eric Corbeyran and illustrator Sebastien Portet are behind the three-volume series, the first of which will be released in France early next year, decanter.com reports.
To research and draw inspiration for the project, the two men visited a number of well-known properties like Chasse-Spleen and Smith Haut Laffite, as well as meeting Bordelais such as Michel Rolland and Allan Sichel.
"The final chateau will be a mix of several properties, and wine lovers may be able to spot certain features," commented Mr Portet.
It is not the first comic book series about wine - Tadashi Agi's The Drops of God relates the story of a wine critic's son charged with identifying 13 wines, including chateaux Lafleur 1994 and Palmer 1999.
