Two Bordeaux estates have become the first to release their en primeur prices for the highly-rated 2010 vintage.
Chateau Bourgneuf Vayron in Pomerol and Chateau La Tour de By in the Medoc have announced their pricing structure just a week after the end of the wine futures tastings, Decanter reports.
At £295 per case in the UK, 2010 Chateau Bourgneuf Vayron is ten per cent more expensive than last year, although this is due in part to a yield reduction from 37,000 bottles last year to 28,000 for the 2010 vintage.
"We always like to bring out our prices early, and not to wait too long to get our campaign moving. We believe our customers appreciate knowing what they are as early as possible," Dominique Vayron, owner of Chateau Bourgneuf Vayron, told the publication.
Chateau La Tour de By is available at the same price as last year - £115 per case in the UK.
Wine consultant Steve Spurrier recently suggested that the high quality of the 2010 vintage will see it "set a new benchmark" for Bordeaux futures.
