Bordeaux and Burgundy wine continue to prove popular with Asian buyers, after another auction in the region yielded considerable sums.
Acker, Merall & Condit's latest Hong Kong auction brought in HK$95.5 million (£7.6 million), with Domaine de la Romanee Conti and Chateaux d'Yquem selling well, Decanter magazine reports.
Stars of the sale included one of only 24 jeroboams of 1945 Chateau Mouton-Rothschild ever produced, which sold for HK$927,200 (£74,000). Meanwhile, 53 bottles of 1901-1996 Chateau Latour achieved HK$463,000 (£37,000).
Acker, Merrall & Condit owner and auctioneer John Kapon made it clear that the firm will be returning to the buoyant Hong Kong market.
"Hong Kong is without a doubt the most exciting place to host an auction these days," he told the publication.
The chief secretary of Hong Kong Henry Tang Ying-yen recently told the region's International Wine & Spirits Fair that he expects Hong Kong will soon become the world's number one auction market for fine wine.
