The wines of Bordeaux and Burgundy will feature heavily in Acker Merrall & Condit's final auction of the year, which takes place in Hong Kong on December 8th and the 10th.
Acker promises to mark the event with three "superlots", one of which it claims is the most important of the year - a 55-bottle vertical of top Burgundy label Domaine de la Romanee-Conti.
The lot includes one of each of the wines produced by Romanee-Conti between 1952 - the first post-war vintage - and 2007.
Acker points out that finding a single bottle of Domain de la Romanee-Conti is rare, so to build a 55-bottle vertical would take years of painstaking effort.
"The sale thus offers a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to amass a collection that can be boasted as the most prestigious vertical collection of wine in the world," the firm states.
Also included in the sale is a 57-vintage vertical from Bordeaux estate Chateau Petrus, starting with the now legendary 1945. Each bottle included is packaged in its own original wooden box with Chateau emblem.
Completing the superlot trilogy is a 101-bottle collection of Chateau Mouton Rothschild. This extraordinary collection features complete vertical from 1936 to 2008, as well as some extremely rare earlier vintages, from 1867, 1874, 1899 and 1905.
Acker Merrall and Condit chief executive officer John Kapon believes that these three rare collections are the perfect way to end 2011 for the auction house, which has taken more than $100 million (£63.9 million) so far this year.
He continued: "The Hong Kong market has played a pivotal role in our success, and the city has become the world's leading fine wine centre.
"These three superlots are a fitting celebration to end the great year that was 2011, and we couldn't think of a better place to do it then Hong Kong."
