2010 Bordeaux 'sparking interest from US investors'

American investors are expected to buy more 2010 Bordeaux en primeur than had initially been anticipated.

According to Decanter, the overall market for fine wine has a more positive outlook than it has done at any point in the last few years.

Negociants working in the US firmly believe that this will draw more American investment vehicles back to Bordeaux trading.

Mathieu Chadronnier, managing director of major Bordeaux negociant Groupe CVBG Dourthe-Kressmann, told the publication that investor interest is growing all over the US.

He added: "There is a new flow of orders in a range of vintages going to the US.

"As regards 2010, or course it's too early to say what will happen, but American retailers are certainly more positive."

Financial advice service Money High Street recently claimed that the Bordeaux fine wine market is a more secure and stable investment than stock and shares, providing strong returns over time.
