It could be possible that the price of en primeur 2010 Bordeaux could be forced down in the coming months.
Many major merchants are expecting the price of en primeur 2010 Bordeaux to match or even exceed those seen for the acclaimed 2009 vintage, according to the Drinks Business.
Indeed, many of the initial prices for 2010 Bordeaux indicate there could be an average rise of between five and 15 per cent.
However, Baron Maurice Velge, owner of Chateau Clauzet in St Estephe, does not believe that prices will change that much, and could even end up being less than those for the 2009s.
The article goes on to suggest that fine wine drinkers may force the prices down, as they could be unwilling to pay for another expensive vintage.
Interest in 2010 Bordeaux appears to be high, however, with Decanter reporting that it has experienced a 60 per cent increase in traffic on its website, due to people looking for information on the latest release.
