The buzz surrounding 2010 Bordeaux has sparked a surge in traffic for a popular wine website.
Decanter magazine has revealed that its online pages have attracted a great deal of traffic from wine enthusiasts looking to find out just how good this latest Bordeaux en primeur release is.
April 2011 saw a 60 per cent increase in traffic for the site, according to figures produced by web analysts Omniture, with more than a third of visitors heading for the en primeur section.
The magazine says that the number of visits to sections dealing with 2010 Bordeaux indicate that interest in the vintage is extremely high.
It is not surprising that the public has an interest in 2010 Bordeaux, given that growers have been enthusing about its quality for many months.
Didier Cuvelier of Leoville Poyferre recently suggested that it was similar to 2005 but with more tannins and freshness, terming it "2005 plus plus".
